What was the highlight of Le Chateau de Namur Hotel
The room was great, it’s just the hammer noise and the restaurant staff that doesn’t speak English ruins my overall expe
The room is amazing for the price, I get more than what I expected to get! The garden is beautiful, the roses smells really nice and the view is spectacular!
The bed was comfortable but the light switch above the bed is indeed cool but when you turn off all the lights it becomes too bright having to put a pillow above it. It was a little bit annoying that I was awake at 7am in the morning with someone hammering the wall somewhere in the building, it kind of ruins my experience because I was tired from work and my sleep was disturbed. I went to a restaurant, the food was nice, I believed the service was supposed to be great but a lot of the staff don’t speak English as I am not from Belgium. And because of that the staff didn’t really speak with me or explain about the food like what they did with the other table. So for me the restaurant experience was not that nice because it seems that they’re ignoring me almost (I know that they didn’t really want to). It would be much nicer if they know enough English at least to communicate with international guests. The location is difficult to get to without a car but it comes with an amazing view.

A good night rest and excellent food
The chateau is a lovely building in a beautiful location. Although it is winter and so the gardens were not full of colour, it was still lovely. Very quiet resulting in a good night’s sleep. We chose to eat in the restaurant. The evening meal was superb and excellent value for money. Service was also excellent by our waiter Luka. Breakfast buffet also excellent. The shower was good, the room had a bath. The bed was large and comfortable. There was a fridge, mini bar. The hairdryer was an old fixed to the wall type. Luckily I took my own. Kettle and coffee machine provided.
We weren’t able to use the EV charger. We have an electric car that we drove from the UK so it was a great disappointment to not be able to charge the car during our stay. Hotel reception said the charger was not theirs even though it was in their car park and said it was up to us to know how to use it. It had no instructions or QR code. The only option was to plug in and scan a card. It wouldn’t take a payment card.

Essential to have a car (which we did) due to hilltop location outside the town.
Grounds, view from room, quiet location, accommodating staff, breakfast, phenomenal dinner
Lighting options in the room, bathtub slippery and potential to fall (thankfully didn’t happen)
